Weather in the North Peace

The city of Fort St. John, British Columbia is located on the upland prairies approximately 2 kilometers north of the Peace River.  

Fort St. John uses Mountain Standard Time in the winter and in the summer, and because of its northerly latitude, it experiences short daylight hours in the winter and long daylight hours in the summer.

Temperatures average between 16 and 20 degrees celsius 61 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit) in the summer months, with winter temperatures averaging between -16 and -25 degrees celsius (4 and -13 degrees Fahrenheit) .  Rainfail averages 30cm (12 inches), and snowfall averages 198cm (78 inches)
